E-Transit has made it to the PR market

The newest and only full-electric work truck to join Puerto Rico's streets.

First of all, we would like to thank Ford Puerto Rico for the invite to the E-Transit event this past week at the Coca Cola Music Hall. Not only did they present the E-Transit and all the specs and features also we had a brief run-through of the new Ford Pro Telematics & E-Telematics systems for ease of fleet management, but we'll get into that. First, lets talk about the use and needs of an electric-powered Ford Transit, the models have projected up to 126 mile range on the Low Roof models, 116 miles on the Med Roof models and 108 miles for the High Roof models. While some concerns were raised as to the electric mile range the only answer is that these EV work trucks are not meant to be used for far away services or to be driven for long hours everyday, the recommended use from the Ford teams was leaning more towards a service provider that mainly works on-site or in the near area like maybe a mobile detailer or an Air-Conditioning service business.

Ford Pro Telematics & E-Telematics is a really cool system that is very necessary for businesses that have fleet vehicles and fleet drivers. In layman's terms the Telematics system is basically a digital and more efficient "if this vehicle is driven recklessly please contact so and so" sticker. Using E-Telematics a business owner or fleet manager can basically track driving behavior, cabin climate optimization, charging status, battery range, battery usage, Battery efficiency and vehicle health and on Telematics for other gas-powered Transits is very similar expect all the battery and electric focused tracking but the essential tracking of driver speeds and assignments are still there. Telematics and E-Telematics does come at a cost of $20 a month per VIN but we at GAB believe its a very good product that at least here in Puerto Rico where not every driver know road rules and driver etiquette.
